Exploring Cultural & Natural Resources That Illustrate African American History
The APEX Museum Names Lauren Tate Baeza, Executive Director
In November 2017, the APEX Museum named Lauren Tate Baeza their new Executive Director. The APEX Museum welcomed the Atlanta native to their staff just as the Auburn Avenue mainstay approached its 40th milestone year.
Baeza, who has attained a Master of Arts in African Studies from UCLA and has garnered experience working with notable institutions such as the Fowler Museum and Santa Monica Museum of Art, came with a high level of enthusiasm and expertise to research, collaborate and plan for new exhibitions at the APEX.
In an interview with the Atlanta Voice, Baeza shared that she has plans to broaden the museum’s public programming and to implement a rotating exhibit plan – providing value to the communities the museum serves, while strengthening their visitor base.
