Dr. Mazloomi founded the Women of Color Quilters Network (WCQN) in the mid-1980s. Today, the WCQN consists of over 1500. Mazloomi called on the group to curate a "quilted" documentation of 400 years of African American history. Subject matter includes African American influences on economics, civil rights, music, and defense just to name a few.
